Norfolk's Conservation Commission approved a special order of conditions for the Leland Wilde Foundation's nature center and closed out a 14 Eric Road subdivision file. Chair Jim Wilson and members Adam Sucher, Paul Kalil and Geoffrey Valentine voted unanimously on each item, including $525 to hardwire a timer onto a town pond's aeration pump and issuing certificates of compliance and release for 14 Eric Road, DEP file 240-172. The Leland Wilde project, presented by Andrew Borman of Beals and Thomas, cleared a state Natural Heritage review and added native plantings after peer review by Data Group.
The night's sharpest exchange came in public comment, where resident Donna Jones pressed the board on pond treatment billing dating to 2018, asking "did we get the results that we asked for when we demanded with the orders?" Wilson acknowledged, "so we don't control the money here at all," noting the Community Preservation Committee pays the invoices; the commission says it will require contractor reporting every November going forward.
