Board of Health · Meeting of September 29, 2026
Norfolk's Board of Health moved toward forming a health district with Wrentham after Franklin exited their shared public health alliance. Health Agent Matt told the board the alliance's current agreement "will no longer be valid" after September 29 and warned that losing state grant funding "would cause a reduction of all services." Tobacco control manager Pari reported a 290.2 percent rise in flavored nicotine pouch sales since Massachusetts' flavor ban, prompting the board to request a comparison of neighboring towns' rules. The board unanimously approved a 16-foot septic setback variance for 41 Everett Street, voted to add a $150 annual fee for special-purpose and wading pools, and continued work on shared-well regulations tied to a 373 Main Street development proposing 11 wells.
Clerk John Bowman said, "None of us want to see these services go away."
