Finance Committee · Meeting of January 21, 2026

Norfolk's Finance Committee re-elected its entire slate of officers and began mapping out a tight spring budget calendar. Members voted unanimously to keep David Lutz as chair, Jonathan Hurwitz as vice chair and Melissa St. Cyr as clerk for 2026.

New Town Administrator Rob Garrity, on his second day in the job, told the committee the town warrant closes February 17 and his final budget recommendation is due by April 7, ahead of a Town Meeting expected around May 13. Lutz warned "we don't have enough money to fund the government at a level funding level, so we're going to have to look at something," citing still-unknown health insurance costs. The committee set tentative meeting dates running from February 25 through April 1 and said it is still seeking a ninth member.
