Finance Committee · Meeting of September 23, 2026

NORFOLK — The Norfolk Advisory Committee reviewed a slate of fall Town Meeting warrant articles funded through the Community Preservation Committee. CPC Chair Cindy Andre told the committee all of her panel's recommended articles passed unanimously, correcting a typo that had listed the Ware Crypt repair at $20,000 instead of $30,000. Sam Ziegler of the Norfolk Grange sought $25,000 for storm windows on 12 historic windows, prompting procurement questions from member Ken Fitzgerald over the single quote obtained.

A town official identified as Rob outlined two options for stabilizing the deteriorating crypt near the library, estimating the facade-preservation approach at roughly $30,000 versus more than $50,000 for a full rebuild. Housing Coordinator Sue Jacobson said Norfolk's subsidized housing inventory sits just under 5 percent and that renewing the town's housing production plan, which expires next October, is needed to preserve Safe Harbor eligibility. No formal warrant-article votes were taken; the committee scheduled a 6 p.m. start next week to accommodate presenters ahead of the fall warrant's close.
